VBS 2019: The Finale

The closing ceremony for VBS this year was fantastic! Thank you to all the family and friends who were able to attend and support our young people. The auditorium was packed, and the children sang joyfully for the Lord! Thank you to all who had a hand in making a great program, especially to our music department. They worked hard this year, as always, to help the kids memorize their class verses and their songs.

Another year of VBS is in the history books, and we look forward to a nice long break then another go at it! See you there for VBS 2020…

VBS 2019 Day Five: Fun with Friends

We had a great last day of VBS, with again having great attendance (today 126)! Today we enjoyed a special Fun Day with our old and new friends! Our day was highlighted with an inflatable bounce house, slide, and obstacle course as well as Knocker Ball! The kids had fun playing and eating hot dogs, snow cones, and cotton candy.

We also wrapped up the missions giving contest for the Daku family. We raised a total of nearly $1,300 for their missions work! Thank you to the boys and girls for donating so generously. The Lord will bless all those who gave with a joyful heart. Can you guess which side won?

What a great day we had! The Lord blessed with fantastic weather all week. Thank you again to all who helped, prayed, and gave! Don’t forget to be at the commencement tonight at 7:00 to encourage the boys and girls as they show some of what they learned this week!

VBS 2019 Day Four: Missions Minded

What a great day our fourth day of Vacation Bible School has been! We continued with strong numbers (125 children) and big events. As we have every day, we took up an offering that will be used to support Josh and Frances Daku and their mission work in Fiji. It is a great blessing to be able to help this young missionary couple and their children’s ministry. Seeing the children excitedly giving for God’s work is also a wonderful blessing. The VBS classes have given several hundred dollars to support this great work. The boys and girls bring in their own money to donate to missions, each dollar represented by a link for their chain. The side with the longest chain wins, resulting in one of our fine directors getting slimed! The offering continues tomorrow with the girls in a close lead, and the winners…the children in Fiji!!!

Speaking of our directors, we give a quick thank you to them for all of their hard work. Hannah and Ethan have put many long hours in preparation leading to VBS and certainly throughout the week to make sure that each day runs as smoothly as possible. They both take on much pressure and rely on God’s strength to get their enormous tasks accomplished. So thank you, to both of you!

Please continue to pray as the final day of VBS approaches. This will be our craziest day yet, and the last opportunity to witness and impact these lives this week. Pray that the Lord will continue to work, and come on it to see what’s happening on this fun-filled day! Don’t forget also that tomorrow night at 7:00 pm is the commencement ceremony. Come see what the children have been working on all week! You will encourage them with your support just by showing up!

VBS 2019 Day Three: Thriving in the Heat

It has been a hot three days outside, but the games continue at VBS and the children are having a blast (and staying well hydrated of course)! This week, our fabulous sports directors have planned some great games for the kids. They have raced, played games with the big ball, played gaga ball, and have much more to come, including Friday’s Fun Day! On Friday, we have special activities planned such as a bounce house, giant inflatable courses, and Knockerball! We will also have cotton candy, sno cones, and grilled hot dogs!

Continue to pray for us this week as we have now passed the middle marker. Today, we saw another attendance increase (up to 129 now) and we have been able to plant the Gospel in many lives! We hope to continue this momentum into tomorrow and Friday. We look forward to what God will do through our church.

VBS 2019 Day Two: A Soul Is Saved

Praise the Lord that we have been able to plant the Gospel seed in many hearts so far this week and we were able to see the first soul saved today! It is our joy just to be able to share the good news of salvation to so many children (we had 122 children today!), and it is a great joy also to see a child come to know Christ as Savior and secure his home in Heaven. Praise the Lord for His goodness!

During the week, all of the children have been working in art class on their very own covered wagon. Yesterday they built the wagons, and today they decorated. The art teachers have are working hard to help the students make great projects to take home. The students are always very creative, and we look forward to what they will make tomorrow.

There is still time to join us if your kids have not yet come! And please be in prayer as we continue the week. Let us know if you would like to help for a day!

VBS 2019 Day One: Record Setting Opening Day!

We had a fantastic first day at Giddy Up Junction! We welcomed 120 children, a new high attendance for opening day! Every class had great participation, but don’t worry, there is still room for more! Our wonderful teachers and staff were encouraged by the great turnout! We saw many returning children, but also many new and excited faces. We look forward to welcoming them back tomorrow morning with some new friends!

A quick and sincere thank you to everyone who helped spread the word about VBS this year: we are seeing the fruit of your labor already. At registration this morning, we heard from several families that they came as a result of the door hangers that were distributed. Also, we know that word-of-mouth was widely successful again in helping with attendance. Our new online registration process, along with a well-prepared office team, helped smooth the opening days events even in the midst of record numbers.

Please continue to pray for this great week as we give the Gospel to families. Please pray that we will glorify God in the events of the week, and that we will have good health and good weather. Check back in for more updates each day!
